Needham Breakfast Helping Children

Maureen Condon, AD Middlesex County

When a member of the Needham Breakfast Chapter brought up the subject of The Barry Boys & Girls Club in Newton needing sponsors for children to help pay for them to go to camp, she didn't realize the intense reaction she'd get. The Chapter sprung into action! They passed a hat around and collected $300.00 dollars for a child to attend a two week camp.

This was such an unexpected gift for the club and is probably the first of what will become a tradition of givers gain for the Needham Breakfast Chapter. It just goes to show that there is a lot more to networking than just passing referrals.

Chapter Leadership Training

Patti Salvucci

1 year term testimonial

As I visit the chapters this month acknowledging the Top 10% of the chapters with a Founders' Award, the 4 chapters that I have visited so far have given positive feedback for going to one year terms. The number one response was "continuity."

A former MA member who served as President in his chapter, moved to Phoenix 2 years ago. He immediately joined a chapter and was asked to serve on Leadership. He glady accepted and later found out that the Region was on annual terms. A little reluctant, he went through training. Many months went by and we spoke again only to learn that he couldn't be happier!

"It takes about 3 months for the leadership team to get settled and comfortable. With 6 months it felt like a disruption, where now the extra time allows us to promote ideas and work as a team. I can't imagine going back to 6 month terms!"---Dick Steiman, Grand Networkers, Phoenix, AZ. (Formerly of the Marlboro Regional Chapter).

"Bring Your Substitute Day is a Success"

Holden is Golden on Substitute Day

Congratulations to all the chapters that participated in "Bring Your Substitute Week". The Holden chapter of Golden Givers had an incredibly successful substitute/visitors day. The President, Jeff Lerman, did a great job of promoting the event through continuous word of mouth announcements along with steady e-mails.

Eleven substitutes arrived as visitors and by the end of the meeting the chapter had 3 new applications with numerous others interested! The hard work and the dedication of all involved really paid off.
