As we all spend the next few weeks shopping for the ones we love in this season of giving - think about the gifts we can give our BNI colleagues.

Givers Gain - We all know this to be true and now is a great time to put emphasis on this aspect of BNI. Give to your chapter and community however you can. Help organize a holiday party, a charity to support or an organization to assist.

1 to 1's -What better way is there to learn about one another than meeting face to face and discussing how you can help each other develop business. There are also mixers and events that can contribute to grow your contact sphere.

Quality Referrals - I'm certain a gift of a solid referral per week in December will be much appreciated. Perhaps you can help someone get through the holiday season with a great project or sale. Tell your clients, customers, consultants, vendors, neighbors and family you belong to a networking organization that has many business professions that you know, like and trust and do business with.

Partnering - Do you need help with a challenge? Can you assist with something you're successful at? Everyone needs a buddy or success partner to share ideas and challenges with while holding one another accountable for helping your chapter.

Think about these back to basics in this season of giving. Think about how you can contribute to the success of your chapter. Think about how you can help the people you care about grow their business. I wish you all a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.

Givers Gain in Action!

Jim Roche
Assistant Director, Norfolk County

Tis the season of giving and the Better Business Builders has taken it to another level. One of the members suggested that the chapter get involved in Adopt-A-Family in need. The family chosen had 4 children with a wish list.

The chapter bought a bike, clothing and everything else on the list with the $700 it raised! While they were wrapping all the gifts at the chapter meeting, they decided to buy Xmas dinner for the family and raised another $180 on the spot!

Congratulations to the BBB for all their efforts. This is truly what BNI is all about!

A Special Visitor!

Barbara LaRue
Member Financial District Chapter

A few weeks ago my Financial District Chapter in downtown Boston held a Visitor's Day It was a great turnout. I was sitting next to one of our visitors and started a conversation. It turns out that he was from Israel and was visiting his daughter here in the Boston area. Lavih Serfaty is an artist in Israel and a brand new member of the Tel Aviv Chapter.

I asked him what prompted him to choose the Financial District Chapter to visit. Lavih said he went on line and checked out the members of the Boston chapters. When he discovered Joyce Creiger, an art consultant, was a member of our chapter, that decided it for him. He and Joyce spent a lot of time networking. So, it just goes to show that you never know where that special visitor may come from!
